FAQ
Do I need a referral to see you?
No referral is needed to book. If you have a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP) from your GP or an NDIS plan, a referral can help you access Medicare or NDIS-funded sessions, but it's not required to get started.
Is this a weight-inclusive, non-diet practice?
Yes. Sessions never focus on weight loss, calorie counting, or labelling foods as good or bad. The goal is to understand what's actually going on with your eating and build an approach that works for your body and your brain.
Do you work with autistic and ADHD adults specifically?
Most clients are autistic adults, ADHD adults, or both, often with ARFID, a diagnosed eating disorder, or a complicated relationship with food that hasn't been given a name yet. I do also work with neurotypical individuals who are struggling with an eating disorder.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth is available Australia-wide on Mondays and Saturday mornings. Face-to-face appointments are available on Mondays at the Prahran clinic.
Why can't I eat certain textures or foods, even as an adult?
This is usually about sensory processing, not willpower. A lot of autistic and ADHD adults find that texture, temperature, smell, or appearance affects whether they can eat something, and that doesn't change just because you've grown up. It makes total sense that this has felt hard to explain to people.
What if I binge eat, or swing between restricting and overeating?
This is something I work with regularly. Binge and restriction cycles are common, and they're not a discipline problem. We look at what's driving the pattern rather than trying to control it from the outside.
